Martha dedicated this solo to her granddaughter Katie, whose kindergarten teacher nicknamed her "Katie Cricket" because she "chirped" so much in class. The "chirping" in this piece is created through staccato seconds across the keyboard. The melody is in Middle C position and divided between the hands. The cheerful lyrics add character to the piece.
