Riccardi, Joseph / Vella, August - Elementary Piano for One (1) Hand - Piano Method Volume*
Elementary Piano for 1 Hand
Publisher: Music Sales America
Elementary Piano for One Hand is designed primarily to give people with the use of only one arm and hand (either right or left) the cance to learn and enjoy playing the piano. It is also designed to give these individuals a strong foundation in musical terms and techniques. By faithfully following this program, students can adcance to fairly complex classical and popular pieces. Pieces written for two hands and technically beyond transcriptions for one hand can be made into duets and plaued to sound as though played by one performer.
The program has the added advantage of being useful for two-handed music students who need to develop their left-hand technique. The underdevelopment of the left hand technique is a frequent problem for two-handed keyboard musicians.
With only changes in fingering this teaching method may also be used for the right hand, and the program is adaptable to different pedagogical needs.
The program takes the student from basics into more advanced levels in a relatively simple step-by-step manner. It includes illustrations of note positions, explanations of terms, exercises, and 28 original compositions by the authors. It is designed to teach students to read music in both the treble clef and the bass clef. Finally, it can be used in either individual or classroom instruction.
